1. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch ON and wait 3 seconds.
2. Repeat the following procedure quickly five times within 5 seconds.
a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal.
b. Fully release the accelerator pedal.
3. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 10 seconds until the MIL starts

Hi there,

Both of these codes are for the mass air flow sensor. Its usually burned out inside when you have this code. Your symptoms are exactly what to expect when the maf sensor fails as well. I suggest replacing the sensor.

Unfortunately there are many things that could cause the P0300 code, probably the most common cause for the code are the ignition coils. Even new aftermarket coil can trigger that code.

Here is a list of all the things that could cause the code:

- Faulty spark plug (s)
- Faulty ignition coil (s)
- Clogged or faulty fuel injector (s)
- Intake air leak
- Fuel injectors harness is open or shorted
- Fuel Injectors circuit poor electrical connection
- Ignition coils harness is open or shorted
- Ignition coils circuit poor electrical connection
- Insufficient cylinders compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure

Driver-side Door and Window issues

$

Hello all,

I searched briefly and did not see a thread so please direct me to one if it exists.

My driver side door will not fully unlock and so it will not open. When I try to unlock the door, the little lock indicator on the inside door handle will not go fully to the unlock position.

Also, my driver side window will roll back down half-way when I roll it up, or it will get stuck when it is fully down. In both cases for the window, it seems to be only when using the auto function. I just had the motor replaced by the way.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

2001 Altima driver power seat

I recently purchased a 2001 Altima that had minor issues and started fixing it up. It's amazing that no one wanted to buy this car because it had no radio in it. Anyway, I needed a few wiring diagrams for the hazards lights, radio, fog lights, and drivers power seat. I bought a Haynes manual and it had all those diagrams except the drivers power seat diagram. Everything else is fixed, so now I need to tackle the seat issue. The seat is fully back and won't go forward. Does anyone have this diagram or know where I can get it from? I have a suspicion it is the motor, but would really like to confirm that before I spend my money on that and the switch be bad.

Hi there,

This code is usually resolved when you replace the intake air temp sensor. On the older 240s the sensor is a 2 wire sensor before the air cleaner. On the newer models it's part of the mass air flow sensor. You can tell based on the number of wires to the maf sensor. If it is a 5 wire sensor, then the IAT is part of that sensor.

Hi there,

There is no recall for this sensor or this code. This code is for the heater circuit of the bank 1 O2 sensor. This is mounted in the exhaust manifold on the firewall side of the engine. The most common repair is replacing the sensor.

'94 Altima occasional hard start

Hi folks,

Every now and then my '94 Altima GXE will take prolonged cranking and some throttle before it starts. In most cases, cranking the engine without pressing the throttle starts the car fine.

The car runs great once it starts. Symptoms:

- With a cold engine, especially in the morning, it always starts immediately.
- With a hot engine (run in and out of the store) it mostly starts immediately.
- With a warm engine, after it has sat for 15mins-an hour or more, it will crank longer and needs some throttle. It will always start though.

Clearly there is a temperature factor in play here. A warm but not hot engine will make starting more difficult. A cold or hot engine, starts the car immediately.

Repairs so far: replaced injectors (the old ones were in bad shape) cleaned the EGR valve and tested it by applying vacuum. The engine throws a bad knock sensor code (can someone tell me how to replace the darn thing?), but that does not illuminate the engine check light. Spark plugs are less than 2 years and 7Kmiles old, spark plug wires are new, OEM. Distributor suffered the dreaded oil leak two years ago and was replaced by the dealer at much $$$.

Any ideas? I have not tried replacing the fuel filter yet, it is next on my agenda.
To me it seems like a fuel delivery issue. Fuel pump? Fuel pressure regulator?

Thanks.

New PCV&4 O2 sensors heat&mon OK;ECM clear 3 different ways why is 2004 nissan maxima 3.5 SES 1273?

Three Months ago just as it was being inspected, my 2004 Nissan Maxima 3.5 lit up a service engine soon (SES) light which read as p1800 VIAS Solenoid and p0037 o2 sensor 2 bank 1 and those were replaced and cleared the ECM. after 30 miles the SES lit up with new codes C1130 crank sensors, p0726 TPI and engine speed sensors and 1273 O2 sensor 1 bank 1 and with all intent to order everything, I went out and read the codes again and only the 1273 code remained so I replaced all the remaining bank 2 O2 sensors as well as the pain in the butt sensor 1 bank 1 between the engine and fire wall and did so with a special open socket for the job so it is properly seated and is not cracked. while I was there I replaced the PCV valve and filters as such were indicated as a possible problem. I then did separate ECM clearing-- gas pedal code--disconnect battery for two hours with terminals touching-- and MAF code and Actron Reader to erase codes in ECM. I inspected for vacume, intake, and exaust manifold leaks and cooling fluid/oil mixings and all is good. I even traced the wires looking for evidence of wire failure or corrosion and again all looks good. Two months later this car is still SES-ing a 1273. With all new OEM O2 sensors, new PCV, codes cleared 3 different ways, and o2 Heat&Mon OK why is my 2004 nissan maxima 3.5 is still SES-ing 1273 ?

Sentra acceleration issue

I have a 2001 Sentra GXE 1.8L that the alternator went out on, so I replaced it. As soon as I started the car it had no power and wouldn't rev past 3500 rpm. I checked everything was reconnected properly. It started to improve and will drive at part throttle fine, but if you try to use anything more than half throttle the car stumbles, and seems to cut out. I tried reinstalling the old alternator and same results, At first there was no CES but the light came on and my Innova scanner fails to connect with the computer. I don't know if these are related,
