The "Check Engine" light on my 1997 2.0 A32 Cefiro (Maxima) has been coming on intermittently for the last few weeks. Yesterday it came on and stayed on.
I have cleaned the sensors in the air intake just before the throttle butterfly with CO Contact Cleaner and also the associated plug. That made no difference so I have also cleaned all the other plugs and bits an pieces that I can see which may be associated with the engine management side of things. All that was to no avail.
I keep the car well serviced so the air filter etc is clean.
I eventually disconnected the battery to see if the computer (I assume it has one) would get its brains unscrambled.
That did the trick for now as after reconnecting the light has gone, but I expect it will be back. Does anyone have advice on what to do to resolve the issue properly? :confused_1:
