HI there,

The code is for the torque converter solenoid. This is mounted to the valve body inside the transmission and can be replaced as a single unit.

HI there,

After replacement you don't need to reprogram the ecm. The computer will see the new sensors readings and should work fine. You do want to clear the learning. Sometimes just clearing the codes will do this. Sometimes disconnecting the battery is required.

2001 Pathfinder ECU went haywire .

good day everyone,
we have a 2001 Pathfinder LE 3.5 L V 6 4x4 , the car has been a sleep over 4 yrs in my GF's daughter's yard , keys where lost , and my GF found a locksmith who claimed was able to forge her new keys and program them to her Betsy ( i nick named her Nissan Betsy ) , so the time came to wake up ol Betsy , only problem was : as soon as the locksmith guy came to the part where he was about to program the key to the ECU ? the entire vehicle went on lock mode , power went dead , doors locked and he claimed something was not right
i replied no kidding , you pissed ol Betsy , I found according to Nissan its ECU and ECM uses CAN BUS drive , with Consult II class programmer by ASIST PC software . i am asking today if anyone can help me on this matter .
my question lies if he may used wrong BUS ( DATA BUS ) programming ? and he was using his Jumper cables to power feed ol Betsy ( in which i was skeptical ) and wanted to install new battery rather .

87 Maxima Blowing ICMs

I have an 87 where new ICM (ignition control modules) fail soon after they are installed. Some within a few seconds, but the latest in 1 yr /750 miles. These ICMs were OES parts with the Nissan part number. The car also has a new ign coil and crank position sensor.

The ground in the icm/coil wiring hardness checks OK with a multimeter, but I still will check the two physical ground points. The circuit diagram shows only these two ground points between the ECM and ICM. I have heard that frequently blowing icm's can be caused by poor ground in the circuit. Where/what else should I check ?

Nissan is recalling 47,538 Leaf electric cars in the U.S. and Canada, citing a possible brake malfunction

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Nissan is recalling more than 47,000 Leaf electric cars in the U.S. and Canada, citing a possible brake malfunction.

Documents posted by U.S. safety regulators Saturday say the problem is centered on a relay inside the cars' electronic brake booster.

Very cold temperatures can cause the relay to fail, requiring more driver effort to operate the brakes. That could increase the risk of crashing.

No accidents or injuries have been reported to Nissan.The automaker will notify owners who need repairs.

Dealers will reprogram software that controls the recalled cars' brake control, free of charge.

The recall includes 46,859 Leafs in the U.S. and another 679 in Canada from the 2013 through 2015 model years. The models in the recall were manufactured between Nov. 19, 2012 and July 31.

ATF level.

This model is 1500 cc with automatic 4 speed transmission.

2006 X-Trail P0745 dropping resistor

My 2006 X-Trail automatic has started shifting hard at low RPMs especially from first to second. Internet research suggests that the "dropping resistor" is a likely problem, and also by far the cheapest fix. My scanner shows a P0745 code, which has to do with the line pressure control solenoid. Does anyone know where to find this "dropping resistor"? I've confirmed with the dealer that this part exists and that it is not inside the transmission.

Hi there,

The most common cause would be the vent control valve, but the whole system should be checked. You can inspect the VCV by removing it and adding power and ground. When you do this there should be a click type of noise from the valve. You can also see the plunger inside move.

Hi there,

IF the check engine light is on, then there are codes stored in the system. They man not have been able to pull the codes with the OBDII port in which case the use of the 17 pin nissan connector will be needed.

Hi there,

The cruise control is not causing the code. It's a code for a bad ecm. It's likely the cruise control won't set because the ecm is no good.

Hi there,

This is usually a result of a faulty cruise switch on the steering wheel. If the air bag light is on then its likely the spiral cable and the cable should be replaced.
