For almost a year, my 2002 Altima randomly won't start. It'll turn over, but won't start. 2 trips to the dearlership...$500...New immoblilizer, Reprogrammed Key, and Disconnected remote starter. Said I needed a new key (additional $75). Never went back to dealership because disatisfied with service. No response from Service Manager or owner of dealership. Only calls from the sales guys. A mechanic replaced the Crank sensor and that seemed to take care of the problem for several months. Recently, it started again. The mechanic read codes 1610, 1612. and 1614. He showed me how to 'reset' the anti-theft security (turn on 3x's for 5 secs; crank 4th time) Sometimes this works...other times it doesn't. This morning, with no key in the ignition, the doors were open, and the radio came on for a few seconds, like the key was in the ignition. HELP!! Is this as simple as getting a new key made?
