Hello , I have a 03 Sentra ( 1.8 w/ coil packs ) .When the engine is cold the idle surges for several minutes and then becomes stable . I have replaced the cam and crank position sensors and the heated o2 sensor after the cat . I was getting a 0340 , 1147 and a 0139 . These should be for the cam sensor , slow response time and not reaching max voltage . The 0340 cleared after cleaning the connector for the cam sensor .
Problem still exists , took the car in for a diagnostic and am being told it is caused by the timing chain . They rotated the cam sensor 180 degrees and that eliminated the surging .
Does this sound correct ?
