My 2000 Xterra will not engage into reverse when it is cold. So far the solution seems to be to put it in drive then reverse. No need to drive in D.
It hasoil. I have never changed the transmission oil or filter. Sometimes it engages lto drive with a clunk. Other than that she runs grrat. 287,000 kilometers.
