My gear shift light (PRNDL) wasn't working, so I took the shifter off and found the 3W bulb for the shifter. I took it out but can't tell if it is blown. Then I did something really dumb. I turned on the headlights and tried to check to see if I was getting 12V to the bulb socket with a volt meter. When I stuck the lead to the volt meter into the socket, I heard a faint pop and the lights to the instrument cluster went dark. When I turn the headlights off, the cluster is illuminated. When I turn the headlights back on, the cluster goes dark. Any chance that I shorted out the dimmer switch?
