My 2006 FWD Murano, with 166k on the clock, will no longer "shift" from the low range in the CVT to a lower ratio, thus increasing vehicle speed. Also get a P1778 DTC. I have an opportunity to purchase the engine and CVT from a 2005 with only 92k, and would like to just drop the old drivetrain out and put the lower mileage drivetrain in its place.
My primary concern is TCM and ECM compatibility. Would I be wise to install the control modules from the donor car, as long as the PN's match? According to the FSM, if the CVT and TCM are both replaced, then erasing the EEPROM in the TCM is unecessary. My research suggests that everything else is interchangeable from '05 to '06.
Any other advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!
