The new dude on the block

Just wanted to drop a line to say hello to all out there.

Found the site as a search looking for info for my two Nissans, 04 Altima 3.5 SE and 06 Maxima SL. Love both cars and have been awesome to own.

I'm coming up on some much needed maintenance for the Altima(typical noisy timing chains-tensioners) and I was considering doing the whole deal(chains, sprockets, tensioners, water pump and oil pump)
I figured since I'm that far into her might as well do it all. It has 128K on it now and never been changed before. I think it may also have a broken motor mount too, just haven't got er up on the rack to see which one yet.

Both cars have been pretty much trouble free and just have had the basic maintenance done. I did do a set of struts on the Altima up front and an 02 sensor in the front bank. Since the Altima is now 10 years old and pushing toward 129k it's time to start doing preventative maintenance that's a bit more extensive and costly. better to do it now that gamble and have something break, like that timing chain.

The Max has had zero issues and the most major thing done was a AC hose leak when we bought it, but that was fixed before we took delivery. Other than that only basic maintenance stuff, oil, brakes, air filter etc.

The only thing I would change one either would be if they were rear wheel drive, because with that amazing 3.5 in them they are a quick little car and would be even that much more fun to drive.

Well if any of you have any info regarding what to watch out for when doing this timing chain that would be very much appreciated.

Looking forward to getting around the site and checking stuff out.

Greg
