HELP!!! I really screwed up. I told my Son In Law that changing the trans filter on the 07 versa hatchback was no big deal. Everything went smoothly until the bolt with the nut and washer was removed. I being a relic thought it would be like any other 20 century auto trans. Wrong! I also had ordered the pan gasket, like an idiot assumed it was the right one. Wrong again.Supposedly the dealership has the correct gasket along with the damn 21 bolts that are a one time only use.
I have a bad back and can not do the labor. So I was coaching my son in law. Everything was ok until we tried to put the long smooth bolt back into the filter and it kept spinning.....
Does anybody have detailed pictures on the valve body and which bolts to pull and any surprises when i pull the valve body? Now I've heard rumors you could just leave that bolt out??? My problem is even if it's highly unlikely to cause a problem, it will. That's just how my luck goes these days.
