NEED HELP! O2 Sensor Questions

This is a little long, thank you for taking time to help out,

I have a 2005 nissan altima s 2.5l and am looking to replace the o2 sensors.. Almost a year ago while on a vacation the crankshaft position sensor went out and had to have it replaced. A few hours later after replacing the sensor my service engine light came back on but the car was running fine. We stopped at a autozone and had the code read and it came up with the P0240 (the manager told me that it was probably something to do with emissions and would not leave me stranded anywhere like the previous episode with the crankshaft position sensor). So with that in mind we continued on and never really looked back because there never seemed to be anything wrong other than the light being on. The car still runs like it always has but i stumbled across some online forums when I looked at possibly changing the o2 sensors and saw the horror stories with this car and the catalytic converter which had me worried...

Today I took my car to the nearest nissan dealership to talk to someone about it and this is what I was told. They told me if it showing the 240 code then it is your catalytic converter without a doubt and priced it a little over $800 plus tax for parts and labor (which I thought really wasn't too awful bad). I told the guy that I really don't think it is the catalytic converter due to the car is running like it always has, no loss in power, and I've been driving this thing hard for almost a year now.. seems like something significant would have happened by now if it was the cc.. I asked about the recall ecm reprograming that i had read about online and he told me that until the check engine light is off he can't put in the new program.

My theory as well as 2 local mechanics I've talked to believe the best thing to do is start with the o2 sensors because I can order them and replace them myself and is most likely the culprit for the check engine light. If this doesn't fix it then I suppose I'll let the dealership rip me a new one but that is last resort of course.

SO, what I need to know is what brand and part number o2 sensors do I need to order? I want to replace both sensors and have looked at different brands but according to the nissan guy the sensors need to be original parts or the new coding will not be compatible with the sensors (not sure if this is true or just part of his sales job lol). I've found NTKs online at a decent price and heard good things from them but does anyone know what the official sensor they use is? I would've let them replace them today just to see but they quoted me almost $500 just for the sensors not including labor!!!!!

If anyone has had this experience or any experts in this field please chime in, I'd like to order the sensors asap to see if this is going to correct the check engine light. Thanks a lot!!!
