2nd blower resistor in 5 days? bad part or something else?

Last week my blower motor resistor went for the 2nd time in 3 years. I got an OEM replacement and now it has gone again 5 days later. Could there be another problem or probably just a defect? I replaced the in-cabin air filters last month, could this have anything to do with it? It has also been warmer than normal on both days it went - could this be part of the equation?
