Guys, I'm in deep trouble.
I was going to replace the high pressure line running from the firewall to the A/C condenser. At the firewall end, there looks like a was a bolt compressing a plate, which holds both high and low pressure piping in place. The bolt sheered off right under the hex head from rust and corrosion which was hidden under the head. Although I was very careful, it actually gave out without much force, much less than a normal bolt would have held. The condenser side is fine. Bolt came out easily and nicely.
What are my options? What does the bolt screw into. Will I be able to get access to the broken "stud" if I remove the compressing plate? Or do I have to take the dash apart to access the other side of the firewall to replace whatever the bolt screws into?
Thanks
